Location and access to Camping la Cascade** in Venosc
The campsite is located in Venosc, an authentic mountain village at the foot of the Deux Alpes ski resort. This unique location offers a rare balance between accessibility and tranquility. In just a few minutes by gondola, you can reach the higher altitudes, the slopes, mountain biking trails, or panoramic mountain views. As you descend, you'll find yourself back in the peaceful haven of a preserved hamlet, serenaded by the sound of the river and birdsong.
Venosc, a place of balance between nature and resort
Venosc is neither a museum village nor an extension of the resort. It's a place to live, inhabited year-round, where the mountains are an everyday experience. The campsite fits perfectly into this tradition. Being at the base of the resort means choosing peace and quiet without sacrificing activities, and authenticity without being isolated.

Our campsite accommodations
At Camping la Cascade, the accommodations are not standardized. They are the result of artisanal expertise and a family history deeply rooted in the local area. A trained carpenter, the owner built the chalets, tipi-shaped cabins, and Tentabois (wooden tents) himself, prioritizing wood, sturdiness, and durability. Some of the wood used comes directly from the site, with trees cut and sawn on-site, following a short supply chain approach. Each accommodation is designed to blend naturally into the campsite's environment.
Why are our accommodations different?
- Because they were designed here, for this place.
- Because they respect the landscape and blend in naturally.
- Because they tell a story of a humble and sincere way of living in the mountains.

Oisans and its 6 legendary mountain passes
The Oisans region is legendary for cyclists. Around Venosc, the Glandon, Croix de Fer, Galibier, Sarenne, Ornon, and Lautaret passes create an exceptional playground. Every summer, these roads welcome enthusiasts from all over the world.
The mountains here are not something to be consumed. They are something to be earned. A local saying perfectly sums up the spirit of the place: The mountain belongs to those who rise early. This philosophy is reflected at the campsite, where many set off at dawn to fully enjoy their days of outdoor activities.

Who are we ?
Camping la Cascade is first and foremost a family story . Created by the mother of the current owner, it has been built up over the years with patience and dedication. Here, several generations have worked in the campsite, the resort, and the village bars and restaurants. The mountains are not just a backdrop; they are a part of everyday life, a reality.
A trained carpenter and tracker, the owner has shaped the campsite in his own image. His wife, the receptionist, is involved in the life of the place and in welcoming guests.
Together, they perpetuate a tradition of discreet, attentive, and respectful hospitality.
The campsite has never sought to grow at all costs. It has preferred to remain true to its identity, that of a simple place, deeply rooted in its territory.
